F1 Has 'Great interest' in Returning to Historic Venues |
The world's most popular sport, F1, has not raced on German tarmac since the 2020 Eifel Grand Prix at the Nürburgring in a very unusual season affected by COVID-19.
The last F1 race at Hockenheim was his 2019, when rain wreaked havoc and Max Verstappen eventually won ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Daniil Kvyat.
F1 is still aiming to return to Germany to some extent, and with the sport unable to return to the circuit after 2019, talks between them and Hockenheim remain constant.
Teske confirmed that negotiations between the two parties are still underway, but there is no immediate prospect of an outcome.
"Of course we are in constant contact with F1 and we will never cut it off," said Teske. "But that doesn't mean there will always be new reports.
"We know that both F1 and us have a great interest in finding a medium-term way to ensure that F1 is held regularly in Germany."
